I thought we were going to get a DS/ STAR TREK mod now im sad.

SFC3 = in my humble opinion, The most Expensive coaster ive ever bought.

Armada 2 = Not bad, they could have transfered more options from the first. The maps were to Small to add a warping option.(but i do understand why its there). When that came out i was surprized that they put those shapeshifting aliens from the "LIQUID" dimention universe. BTW i thnk my C&C for ps1 has bigger maps in it then this game... and thats just sad.

"SPACE THE FINAL FRONTIER" - well not if you buy our games

Ive thought about trying out the Bridge comander but ive become broke since those days... anyone out there buy it? or know of a decent Startrek game?

There are now much bigger maps for STA2. You should check some pages. Some of them are really giantic.

About an earlier post... if you watch DS9 ALOT you might of picked up that it would be amlost impossible to beat the dominion. Along with The DS9 Doctor (can't spell his name) and alot of genetically altered pewople they predicted that there would be 900 Billion Deaths in the Alpha-Quadrant, and the dominion would rule.

Personally, I have been partial to the Akyazi Class ship...

Actually, I inherited this interest from my father who has been a Star Trek fan for a long time (after all, according to him, no one got nice alien ass like Capt. Kirk did ) Needless to say, he's a programmer

Here are some pics:

Akyazi Technical Layout
CGI Flyby Photo
A Good Blueprint with Armaments

And a ST mod of DS would be cool, and not too difficult. After all, just rename all the weapons and plug in new models and voila! right?

Anyways, IMO, DS9 was stupid. It should not be considered Star Trek....afterall, they didn't TREK! Well, not until they got that crappy little Defiant which was blown a part in First Contact. It was salvagable, unfortunately.

The only good quality about DS9 was that it really portrayed how a Star Trek war works.

Voyager was....OK. It could have been better, but the Delta Flier was pretty neat.

And Enterprise jumped the shark with the time traveling member of the crew and Scott Bakula traveling through the walls. After the season finale of the first season, I stopped watching it. The theme song was fun though, and T'Pal was smokin'. But that was about it.

Besides, it was inaccurate. While the original ST series was a bit behind our times on some things (mainly the computer technology), it was certainly realistic in the sense that they didn't have warp communications. But low-and-behold, Enterprise did. I think Gene Roddenberry is spinning in his grave like a top.

Alright, end of rant. Nice topic guys

EDITS: Been a while since I've done BBCode =P

i most follow Schaks lead... the Akira rulez....

I have ST:A2 and I'm willing to get owned by each and every one of you

And Orion, the Akyuazi is a myth, since its top speed is some warp 21,5 and the fact that no vessel can accelerate beyond warp 10

Myon

p.s. yeah, i know.... in the TNG the Feds had vessels taht could fly warp 13... but they didnt know better (different warp count maybe )

As I recall, the Akyazi was a theory, not an actual ship. Regardless, I don't really care about its armament or its speed, I simply like the aesthetic value of it.

And didn't the Borg travel at warp 11 in that one TNG episode? ('Best of Both Worlds' I believe). It wasn't that no ship could travel faster than that, it was that no ships could travel SAFELY past that and still protect its passengers from the harmful randomness associated with FTL speeds.

And regardless, who cares if it was a myth? It's a TV show! They could have hyper-intelligent individually-wrapped slices of American cheese flying the ships if they wanted to, so why can't they have an Akyazi?

lol@Lupino

@Whoever asked... Yes Bridge Commander is a pretty sweet game.

Oh yeah the Delta Flyer broke warp 10, the pilot mutated but he did break warp 10...

Also, Borg ships travel in 'transwarp' which appearenly is different than regular warp thus they can go much faster. Plus they have all this advanced crap and stuff that makes 'em do whatever the show's producers want 'em to.

i couldnt agree more with barthezz..

armada 2 was the biggest let down in entire history lol

the ships were stupidly over powered in weapons and stupidly weak in shields etc etc and the borg were a complete failure. one fusion cube could waste everyting lol and you couldnt more than 2 on the goddamn screen ffs.

Armada 1 online was the best online game ever. the tactics you needed to play well were ace and there were endless amounts of them. 3v3 games were amazing if you had all 6 players good. i have played the game ever since it came out and i have never got bored with it

well not realy a easy question
first. STA2 sucks
second. STA1 wasn`t that good

My favorite Ships are the Defiant Class Heavy Destroyer (just cool Pulse Lasers and quant.torps)
The Sovereign Class Battleship (cool design and realy heavy weapons)

in the middle
Excelsior Class (nice fast and for this age pretty goos weapons

on the end of my list are:
The Intrepid class (voyager was a bit to crapy)
Galaxy Class (that design just sucks)

armada 1 didnt suck as long as your good at it..

online was much better than the story and plus u didnt learn anything at all by playing the story..

u just have to give armada 1 time and you will get good

and trust me when you are good, the game is ace

@ Charz, bridge commander was gash as well. There seems to be a complete inability to create a decent Star Trek game, which is suprising really as a lot of the work has already been done for developers.

SFC1+2 being the only exceptions to the rule.
